"The Future of the African American Past": A Landmark Conference to Mark the Opening of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture

David Blight will speak at the historic conference, “The Future of the African American Past,” organized by the American Historical Association (AHA) and the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC), and sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities with additional support from HISTORY. The conference will take place May 19–21, 2016, and will be the first major public event held in the new museum.
