David Blight will participate in The Sewanee Symposium "Incorporating Equality: The First 150 Years of the Fourteenth Amendment" marking the 150th anniversary of Tennessee’s landmark approval of the Fourteenth Amendment. This event will bring together some of the nation’s leading historians, constitutional scholars, lawyers, and judges to reflect on the Amendment’s future in light of its past.

Participants include David W. Blight (Yale University), Annette Gordon-Reed (Harvard Law School), Kareem Crayton (Vanderbilt University), Michael Kent Curtis (Wake Forest School of Law), Douglas Egerton (Le Moyne College), Gerard Magliocca (Indiana University), Kate Masur (Northwestern University), John Oldham McGinnis (Northwestern University School of Law), and Daniel J.
